The people behind it

Jamie France — founder & CEO

Former Rocket Lab launch director and America's Cup design engineer.

Mission

Building reusable satellite platforms which deliver reliable microgravity access and safe payload return.

Beginnings

A New Zealand space company targeting first launch in 2028, taking payload reservations for orbit and return.

Why people join

Outlier is building a scalable, reusable, uncrewed satellite platform launching in 2028, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. It's led by a team of global aerospace experts with a track record in mission-critical systems, offering end-to-end mission support from funding strategy to mission design and operations. The team is actively hiring senior engineers across avionics, mechanical, flight software, RF, HITL, and mission safety.

The bigger picture

Microgravity removes convection, buoyancy, and sedimentation — enabling new cells, crystal structures, and advanced materials that can't be made on Earth. By pairing high-cadence orbital access with safe return of payloads, Outlier aims to enable a sustainable orbital economy where in-space research and manufacturing become routine.
